He has worked for Microsoft Corporation in multiple disciplines such as Program Management, Software Development and Research. He has accomplished multiple technical projects that span diverse areas of expertise, such as, Digital Advertisements, Ad Relevance, Search Engines, Big-Data, Large-Scale Deployments, Rights Management Systems, Enterprise-scale Facility Management Systems, Learning Platforms, and End-user Product Design. He knows how to build a technically solid team to deliver the required results. He has managed geographically distributed teams of engineers and researchers across the world. He is an initiator and an entrepreneur at the heart. He is part of an active entrepreneur community in Seattle, USA and has started two technology companies. He loves to share his knowledge and expertise and is also an adjunct professor at Seattle University, USA.
Mr. Taimur Rashid is currently the head of world-wide business development for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Products and Solutions. Serving at AWS for 6+ years, Taimur held a number of roles, and shaped several key functions at AWS. He has helped some of the most innovative and successful startup companies scale on AWS including Dropbox, Foursquare, Pinterest, twilio, Viber, and enterprise companies transform their IT to cloud, including Netflix, NASDAQ, Nokia, and NASA JPL. He helped strike several key partnerships and launched a number of web services used by thousands of startups and hundreds of enterprise companies. Prior to AWS, Taimur held several roles at Oracle/Siebel including Business Development, Product Management, and Engineering. He oversaw business development for Platform Products within Life Sciences and Aerospace & Defense. Taimur holds a B.A. in Computer Science from University of Texas at Austin, and is currently on leave from Stanford University, where he started the SCPD program in Management Sciences & Engineering.
Mr. Raja Tanveer Iqbal obtained his PhD degree in Computer Science in 2006 and worked for Microsoft Corporation for the next six years. During his tenure at Microsoft, he worked in various research and development roles at Microsoft Online Services Division. During this time, he worked on various cutting edge techniques that deal with various problems in paid search marketplace, online advertising, relevance in online retrieval, data mining at large scale, predictive analytics and online experimentation. At Microsoft, Raja has been a regular speaker at various tech-talks and tutorials. He has given talks on predictive modeling, R programming, online experimentation and A/B testing, relevance in online systems and online advertising. Raja has published his work on object detection, DNA classification, face detection and texture classification in peer reviewed journals and conferences. Raja is currently working on his new startup while finishing up his management science degree at Stanford University.
